HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam have booked a spot in the semi-finals of the VTV International Women’s Volleyball Tournament in the central province of Quảng Nam after beating Kazakhstan's Altay 3-0 (25-14, 25-11, 25-13) to top Group A.
Spikers Bùi Thị Ngà, Trần Thị Thanh Thúy, Nguyễn Thị Kiều Trinh and Nguyễn Thị Trinh shone to help Việt Nam take the lead. However, the team's top player Thúy hurt her ankle late in the first set and was not able to continue.
Without Thúy, Việt Nam still dominated the next two sets.
This year’s event attracted six teams including five foreign teams.
They are competing in a round-robin format with the first placed teams in each group progressing straight to the semi-finals.
