Nghệ An Police break up heroin trafficking ring

NGHỆ AN — Police in Nghệ An Province on Monday announced they had broken up a heroin trafficking ring from Laos to Việt Nam.

At about 3.30am on Monday, the police, in co-ordination with provincial border guards, caught two people transporting heroin.

The two people fought back against officers before trying to escape but were caught.

They were named as Da Xia Tu Vang, 23, and Vua Xong, 20, both from Bolikhamsai Province of Laos.

The police seized 18kg of methamphetamine and more than 10kg of heroin.

The police are conducting further investigations into the case. — VNS
