Major gambling ring busted in Hải Phòng

HẢI PHÒNG The Ministry of Public Security and Hải Phòng City police raided an urban area on Saturday and busted an illegal gambling ring operated by foreigners.

In many of the buildings at Our City Urban Area on Phạm Văn Đồng Road, Dương Kinh District, police discovered various machines and devices designed for online gambling.

According to a Vietnam News Agency reporter, as of 10pm on Saturday, the area was surrounded by multiple layers of law enforcement officers. All of its entrances were guarded around the clock.

The urban area was built in 2012 by a company from Hong Kong and consists of five apartment buildings and one large commercial centre.

As of 9am on Sunday, the representative of Hải Phòng City’s police and People’s Committee have not provided any further details because the case is still under investigation. VNS
