VĨNH LONG — Some 45,000 mothers and their infants will benefit from a two-phase project to fight malnutrition in southern Vĩnh Long Province.

Mothers and their infants, who age between 6 and 36 month-old will be given Vitamin A supplement on June 1-2, a micronutrient important to height and weight development, boosting the immune system of the children, according to head of the provincial Centre for Disease Control (CDC) Phạm Minh Thành.

The second phase of the project will take place in December.

The provincial CDC advises parents to bring their infants to health centres to ensure they receive the right dosage and follow proper procedures.

The centre will also provide parents with information regarding dietary requirement for infants and how to maintain good hygiene to prevent diseases.— VNS
