LÂM ĐỒNG — Đỗ Thành Nhơn, a local resident in Bảo Lộc City, Lâm Đồng Province has handed over VNĐ37 million (nearly US$1,600) he found at an ATM machine to the police, who then successfully returned it to its owner.
Nhơn said when he pressed the order to deposit cash into his account at the ATM on June 24, he found the machine open with the money in the tray. Nhơn then brought this to the police station and handed it over.
Three days later, the police found its owner and returned the money to Nguyễn Hoài Yến Linh in Lộc Sơn Ward, Bảo Lộc City.
Linh said that she brought VNĐ80 million to deposit into her account, but the machine didn't accept the full amount.
She did not receive any update messages and thought the account statement might be delayed over the weekend.
Linh was then informed by the bank that the transaction was not fully processed, and her personal account did not receive the money. — VNS
