Exhibitions mark Reunification Day

Two photo exhibitions on HCM City’s development mark the 43rd anniversary of the National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 132nd anniversary of International Labour Day (May 1).

HCM CITY —  Two photo exhibitions on HCM City’s development mark the 43rd anniversary of the National Reunification Day (April 30) and the 132nd anniversary of International Labour Day (May 1).

The exhibition Thành Phố Hồ Chí Minh – Khát Vọng Vươn Cao (HCM City – Aspiration for Development) on Nguyễn Huệ Pedestrian Street in District 1 displays 88 photos.

The photos feature soldiers and residents of the Central Highlands and southern region during the resistance war that liberated the country.

On display include images of HCM City’s economic, social and cultural development after 43 years of liberation.

The exhibition Phát Huy Truyền Thống Yêu Nước của Giai Cấp Công Nhân trong Sự Nghiệp Công Nghiệp Hóa, Hiện Đại Hóa (Promoting Workers’s Patriotism for the National Industrialisation and Modernisation Cause) includes 120 photos of the city’s workers during the resistance war.

It also presents photos about the daily life of workers in the city, as well as social and cultural activities launched by the city’s Labour Confederation.

The photos can be seen along Đồng Khởi Street and in Chi Lăng Park and the Labour Cultural Palace in District 1.
