ĐÀ NẴNG — Around 50 fliers from clubs nationwide and overseas will be competing in the Đà Nẵng paragliding race and related activities at Sơn Trà peninsula on June 20-30.

The city’s paragliding club chairman, Dương Hiển Hoàng told Việt Nam News the race is open to all competitors.

He said the race will officially open on June 24th as an event to promote the city’s annual Summer Rendezvous at the beaches of Sơn Trà peninsula.

As scheduled, pilots will take off from a point on Sơn Trà Mountain, at 571m above sea level, and land on Thọ Quang Beach after flying a distance of 2.5km.

Participants will compete in the men’s and women’s individual and team events.

Hoàng said the club’s paragliders will offer a Fun Flying event for tourists during the 10-day event at a cost of VNĐ1.3 million per person (US$57.5).

Competitors can register to enter the race by sending an email to clbhangkhongdn@gmail.com before June 15th.
