Facing challenges as the COVID-10 pandemic spreads, Huỳnh Long Tuồng Troupe, one of HCM City’s private theatres, is working to offer new shows of tuồng or hát bội (classical drama), a Vietnamese traditional theatre genre that originated in the 12th century. 

The rights to music by composer Nguyễn Văn Chung have been brought by Chinese artists, with the intention of re-recording and releasing them north of the border. Chung will be the first Vietnamese musician whose songs are copyrighted in China. 

The eighth to tenth month of the lunar calendar are that busiest time of the year to fishermen in various upstream localities in the southern province of Đồng Tháp, as the arrival of the flooding season brings along fish season.

Music video Way back home, which features famous Vietnamese artists, has been released to encourage frontline forces who have been fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a gap of almost 30 years, female musician Trần Lệ Giang has returned to music. She has written songs including Cội Nguồn (The Root). It is an entry for the song writing contest entitled Hát Lên Việt Nam (Let’s Sing, Việt Nam).
