Traffic in Viet Nam often feels like every man for himself, but there are some kind souls on the roads.

Lê Quang Khải, a man residing in northern Vĩnh Phúc Province, last Saturday, posted on social media a story about a crash between his car and a truck.

After the collision, the truck driver gave Khải VNĐ19 million (US$820) to help him repair the car.

However, Khải wanted to find the driver to return VNĐ12 million ($520) because the total cost of repairs came to only VNĐ7 million ($300).

According to Khải, his car was hit by the truck on Highway No5 on October 11.

Both drivers took the damaged car to a nearby garage in Hải Dương City and the garage workers estimated the cost for repairs at about VNĐ19 million.

However, when Khải took the car to another garage in Vĩnh Phúc City, it charged him only VNĐ7 million.

Khải explained that at the garage in Vĩnh Phúc City, he decided not to replace some parts to save costs compared to the estimated charge in Hải Dương.

Khải's post hit nearly 7,000 likes, 500 shares and more than 1,000 comments.

Almost all of them expressed their appreciation for his kind act and praised the behaviour of both drivers after the collision.

Finally, Khải found the container driver thanks to Facebook, according to thanhnien.vn online newspaper. VNS
