Fighters ready for frightful Muay Thai Rampage: Road to ONE: Việt Nam

HCM CITY -- All fighters were in great conditions and ready for their thrilling bouts at the Muay Thai Rampage: Road to ONE: Việt Nam on May 19 in HCM City.

After the weight-in and face-off sessions, athletes took part in a draw to find out their opponents.

In the strawweight (56.7kg), Huỳnh Hoàng Phi, one of the best fighters, in this category, will be a tough challenge against Nguyễn Tấn An; Vũ Đại Luật will see Võ Minh Nghĩa;  Nguyễn Thành Thoan will fight Võ Thanh Tùng; and Huỳnh Văn Tuấn will punch Bùi Trần Tấn Tài.

In the flyweight (61.5kg), the only foreign martial artist Walid Sakhraji of Morocco will be a highlight. Sakhraji, who is practising in Thailand and considered a title favourite, will face Nguyễn Duy Thuần of the hosts.

Sakhraji expected to defeat Vietnamese WBC Muay Thai champion Trương Cao Minh Phát in this competition. But according to the draw, both of them need to advance to the final match first.

Phát will fight Phan Huy Hoàng in his first bout. Two other matches will feature Danh Quốc vs Phan Trọng Quỳ and Vương Văn Tín vs Nguyễn Hào Hiệp.

The tournament will deliver a total of VNĐ6 billion (US$236,000) to the athletes with winners of two categories receive a contract to compete at the ONE Championship, the world largest martial arts organisation, hosting bouts across all styles of martial arts such as MMA, Muay Thai, Kickboxing among others.

The bouts by Shadow Entertainment will be held at the Saigon Sports Club and will be live aired on the Muay Thai Rampage's facebook and youtube as well as VTVCab's platforms. VNS
