COVID caseload tops 10,000

The number of people to test positive for COVID-19 in Việt Nam has topped 10,000.

HÀ NỘI — The number of people to test positive for COVID-19 in Việt Nam has topped 10,000.

Since the first case was detected back in January, 2020, there have been 10,048 coronavirus patients.

Of those, 3,804 have made a full recovery from the virus and there have been 57 fatalities.

On Saturday morning, 68 new cases were detected, all local transmissions with 64 people already in locked down areas or quarantine facilities.

The source of the other four cases is currently being investigated.

The new cases were found in Bắc Giang (29), Hồ Chí Minh City (20), Tiền Giang (10), Bắc Ninh (8), and one in Lạng Sơn.

Currently nationwide there are 21 provinces that have not seen any new cases for 14 days. They are Yên Bái, Quảng Ngãi, Đồng Nai, Nghệ An, Quảng Ninh, Quảng Nam, Quảng Tri, Thừa Thiên Huế, Nam Định, Hoà Binh, Tuyên Quang, Phú Thọ, Sơn La, Ninh Bình, Thanh Hoá, Thái Nguyên, Hưng Yên, Hải Phòng, Tây Ninh, Gia Lai and Bạc Liêu. — VNS
