80 new cases confirmed Monday morning

Eighty new COVID-19 cases were confirmed Monday morning, 78 of them community infections, including a two-year-old boy.

HÀ NỘI — Eighty new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Monday morning, 78 community infections, including a two-year-old boy.

It takes to the total number of coronavirus cases to 3,412.

The local transmissions were detected in Bắc Ninh (27), Vĩnh Phúc (19), Đà Nẵng (13), Bắc Giang (5), Hà Nội (9), Hòa Bình (2), Đắk Lắk (1), Điện Biên (1), Lang Sơn (1).

In the past 24 hours there has been a total of 155 new cases, which is the highest daily amount since the first case was detected last year.

The two imported cases are a Vietnamese citizen returning from France and an Indian expert who arrived in the country from Qatar. Both were immediately quarantined on arrival.

Of the 13 new cases in Đà Nẵng City, eight of the patients, including seven women, work at AMIDA Beauty Salon.

In Hà Nội, six of the new cases are either patients at the Đông Anh District-based National Hospital for Tropical Diseases or their relatives.

The two-year-old boy who has tested positive is in Hòa Bình Province and is being treated at Hòa Bình General Hospital.
