Hà Nội Oncology Hospital is recognised as highest level hospital on cancer treatment

The Ministry of Health has recognised the Hà Nội Oncology Hospital as a high level hospital and assigned the hospital a task of directing specialised techniques on oncology.

HÀ NỘI — The Ministry of Health has recognised the Hà Nội Oncology Hospital as a high level hospital and assigned the hospital a task of directing specialised techniques on oncology.

As an  tertiary referral hospital in the oncology field, the Hà Nội Oncology Hospital will join in directing specialised techniques to help lower level hospitals as well as supporting the National Cancer (K) Hospital in the central level’s cancer examination and treatment activities.

Speaking at the announcement event on Thursday, Deputy Minister of Health Nguyễn Trường Sơn urged the hospital to strive to be an end-line oncology hospital as well as become a leading training facility in the oncology field of the country.

The hospital director Bùi Vinh Quang said that this marked a big foundation in the hospital’s development.

“The hospital will strive more to improve examination and treatment quality, helping reducing congestion for central hospitals and creating more favourable conditions for people to access high quality services of cancer checkups and treatment,” said Quang.

The Hà Nội Health Department director Nguyễn Khắc Hiền also asked the hospital to develop its human resources, promoting professional skills and domestics and international co-operation, especially completing the hospital development project in the 2020-25 period, including the hospital expansion project so the hospital will have more modern technical infrastructure to meet the needs of high-quality medical examination and treatment of people in the capital.

After 20 years of development, the Hà Nội Oncology Hospital currently has 600 beds and nearly 600 staff. The hospital invests in a modern and comprehensive system of medical equipment to meet all fields of treatment of oncology including internal medicine, surgery, radiotherapy, nuclear medicine, palliative care, and intervention treatment.

In addition, the hospital has performed advanced oncology techniques as well as applied many advanced oncology techniques in the world to improve the quality of medical examination and treatment.— VNS
