Drug trafficking ring busted in HCM City

Police in HCM City’s Tân Bình District have busted a drug trafficking ring, seizing 11kg of narcotics.

HCM CITY — Police in HCM City’s Tân Bình District have busted a drug trafficking ring, seizing 11kg of narcotics.

Six members of the ring were also arrested after a three-month investigation, police said on Wednesday.

They include Nguyễn Thanh Hùng, leader of the ring, Cổ Đại Luân, Nguyễn Thị Cẩm Hồng, Trương Đỗ Hoàng Yến, Lê Đức Tài and Phương A Xuân, residing in HCM City.

Hùng bought drugs from an unknown source in Cambodia, then sold them on to other drug dealers, earning about VNĐ80 million (US$3,400) per kilo.

The case is under further investigation to prosecute these suspects. — VNS
