Company suspended for illegal use of foreign workers

A company in Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa Province has been suspended for two month for illegal use of foreign workers.

KHÁNH HÒA — A company in Nha Trang, Khánh Hòa Province has been suspended for two months for illegal use of foreign workers.

Phong Nguyên Investment Limited Company was fined VNĐ90 million (US$3,910) for violations related to advertisements, the Voice of Việt Nam reported.

The city’s inspection team discovered five Chinese nationals working at a Phong Nguyên Company’s restaurant. Two of them did not have work permits.

Khánh Hòa Province has discovered more than 300 foreigners illegally working in the province so far this year.

Most of them have been Chinese or Russians working as chefs, salespeople and tour guides. Over 220 of them have been fined a total of VNĐ2.2 billion for immigration violations.

According to Trần Sơn Hải, vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, many foreigners had misused tourist visas to stay in the country, adding that the situation needed to be addressed. — VNS
