Teachers college opens in central region

Đà Nẵng University has opened a Technical Teachers’ Training College to train 2,000 students at four technological and engineering faculties.

ĐÀ NẴNG — Đà Nẵng University has opened the Đà Nẵng Technology and Education College to train 2,000 students in four technological and engineering faculties.

The new college, which was developed from the former College of Technology and the technical teaching department of the Teachers’ Training College, is the 13th college at Đà Nẵng University and the first of its kind in the central and Central Highlands region.

Next year, the college will enroll students for the first courses in technology, engineering, technical teachers and technological studies and applications.

Đà Nẵng University is one of the top 50 universities in ASEAN, and a key human resource centre for the central and Central Highlands regions.

Each year, the university’s 13-college system trains 90,000 students in technology, engineering, science, economics, trade, finance, foreign languages, medicine, culture, tourism and media studies.

The university is developing the Đà Nẵng University Village project with an investment of VNĐ1.7 trillion (US$75.2 million) in the border area between Quảng Nam Province and Đà Nẵng City.  

It includes buildings, colleges, apartments and research centres for students. 

In August, Đà Nẵng University, in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Arizona State University officially launched centre for students to research innovations.

In March, the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (Francophone University Association), agreed to boost co-operation in scientific research, education and student exchanges with Đà Nẵng University. This will also involve technology transfer, communications, business management, water management, and embedded software systems. — VNS
