ĐÀ NẴNG — A paraglider was rescued on Wednesday after making an emergency landing in Đà Sơn Forest in Liên Chiểu District, 20km north of Đà Nẵng City, central Việt Nam.
The city’s fire-fighting police force said on Thursday that the pilot, Nguyễn Hải Anh, 35, from Hà Nội, landed in the forest on Wednesday evening during a training flight.
The police said the pilot was forced to land due to bad weather in the area.
Local residents called the police for help and a team was sent to rescue the pilot.
The team found the pilot in good health around 9.45pm on Wednesday.
Đà Sơn Forest near Phước Tường Mountain and Sơn Trà Mountain are two popular sites for paragliders to train and compete.
Paragliding is a recreational and competitive sport that took off in the country 10 years ago.
Đà Nẵng hosts annual paragliding championships in summer. — VNS
