ĐÀ NẴNG — A Japanese Coast Guard vessel, the Echigo (PLH08), and 85 crew members started a six-day friendly visit to Đà Nẵng and Quảng Nam Province yesterday.

The ship crew, commanded by colonel Toyota Chikara, will visit Đà Nẵng city, the command of Military Zone 5 and of the Border Guard Force, Maritime Rescue Co-ordination Centre No 2, and the Japanese Language Sakura Centre.

The ship will also conduct a joint exercise with Coast Guard Force, Zone 2, and play a volleyball match during the visit.

The ship will leave from Đà Nẵng City’s Tiên Sa Port on Monday.

In 2015, a Japan Coast Guard ship, Yashima PLH22, also paid a visit to Viet Nam’s Coast Guard Force Zone 2.

The visit aims to promote understanding and friendship between the Coast Guard Forces of Việt Nam and Japan. — VNS
