HCM CITY — Pharmaceutical Corporation Boehringer Ingelheim is accelerating its commitment to bring positive impact to people, animals, communities, and the planet through a broad range of corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes in Việt Nam.

This year, the company has conducted multiple activities in Hà Nội and HCM City to support people in need and protect the environment.

In HCM City, nearly 250 Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam employees visited Kỳ Quang 2 Pagoda, Từ Hạnh Pagoda, and Vĩnh Sơn Nursing Home, where many disadvantaged children, elderly people and orphans are living. The employees prepared meals for the residents of the shelters, cleaned the temple halls and shelter grounds, redecorated the living areas, and organised games for the children to play.

Other groups gathered in District 2 to collect garbage and clean up areas in Thủ Thiêm Tunnel. These activities helped create a strong sense of bonding within the company and strengthened the commitment to positively impact society and the environment.

On the same day in Hà Nội, Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam employees also visited the Vietnam Friendship Village, which currently nurses 70 veterans and 120 children who are victims of Agent Orange. The company staff made dinner for the people in the village, tidied up their living area, played with children, and donated gifts. Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam’s employees also went to the Backyard Squad Animal Rescue Station to clean up, feed and give baths to baby animals.

These activities are part of the Value Through Innovation Day, one of the highlights in Boehringer Ingelheim’s cultural calendar taking place on May 10 across the globe. On this day, employees are invited and encouraged to reflect on and interact with the cultural framework of the company and celebrate what they have achieved as an organisation. They are also encouraged to recognise that every action they take impacts future generations.

With the goal of improving animal health, the company has worked closely with veterinarians, pet owners, and health authorities to implement the programme "Rabies Vaccination for the Community" since 2021, with a total of more than 12,400 vaccinated dogs and cats. In April 2023, this programme continued to provide free rabies vaccination to 7,000 dogs and cats in Đức Huệ District, Long An Province.

In 2022, Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam donated 64 digital devices worth more than US$10,000 (nearly VNĐ250 million) to Maison Chance, an NGO providing accommodation, health care, learning and vocational training opportunities for the less fortunate. — VNS
