HÀ NỘI — Minister of Public Security Sen. Lt. Gen. Lương Tam Quang hosted a reception for a visiting delegation from the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) of the US in Hà Nội on Monday, during which the two sides discussed ways to boost bilateral economic, trade, and investment cooperation.
The Vietnamese official highlighted the fruitful development of the Việt Nam-US relationship, especially the upgrade of the bilateral relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership on the occasion of the visit to Việt Nam by US President Joe Biden.
Economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Việt Nam and the US continues to be a bright spot, serving as a crucial pillar and main motivation for advancing the bilateral relations, he said.
He suggested the ITI, as a reputable and influential organisation in the US, continue to enhance its role as a bridge between the two countries' governments and businesses, thus further promoting economic, trade, and investment cooperation, particularly investment by top IT firms of the US in Việt Nam.
ITI President Jason Oxman said the agency looks to gain deeper insights into Việt Nam's investment environment and policies, thus expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation between the two countries.
The council hopes that the Vietnamese government in general and the Ministry of Public Security in particular will continue to pay attention to and create favourable conditions for US enterprises to make long-term investments in Việt Nam, he said. — VNS
