The second Bản Giốc Waterfalls Tourism Festival has opened in the northern border province of Cao Bằng’s Trùng Khánh District.

It features dragon dance performances, a love duet singing contest, folk games, a painting competition on the Bản Giốc Waterfall, a boat race on the Quảy Sơn River, a fair of local specialties, and a photo exhibition on Trùng Khánh’s people and landscapes.

A concert was held to promote the friendship between Cao Bằng and China’s Guangxi Province with the participation of music troupes from the latter’s Jingxi and Daxin districts.

The two-day festival aims to promote tourism, contributing to the district’s socio-economic development.

Bản Giốc Waterfalls is one of Việt Nam’s most impressive natural sights. Measuring 300 metres across and 30 metres high, it is the widest in the country.

The falls are on the beautiful green water of the Quây Sơn River in a pastoral landscape of rice fields and bamboo groves surrounded by limestone mountains. — VNS
