HÀ NỘI — More than 60 meetings were arranged between South Korean companies from the Free Trade Zone and Vietnamese importers in a trade promotion meeting taking place this week.

The event, facilitated by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA Hà Nội) in Hà Nội, offered a valuable opportunity for companies from both countries to connect, explore potential partnerships, and strengthen bilateral trade relations.

The South Korean delegation included 11 companies that specialise in a wide variety of products, ranging from consumer goods like cosmetics, food, and healthcare devices to industrial equipment. Key products of interest during the meetings included waste heat recovery incinerators, cement kilns, mobile tanks/silos, essential equipment and maintenance services for hydropower, thermal power, and wind energy plants, as well as construction equipment and LED lighting systems.

The meetings generated numerous prospects for collaboration in these sectors, laying the groundwork for future business partnerships.

Kwon Jong Hee, CEO of Yeomeong Lighting, a company that produces LED lighting equipment, expressed her excitement about the potential of the Vietnamese market, sharing that she had already met several suitable Vietnamese partners at the event.

Lee Young Hwan, Director of Haneul Enterprise, which focuses on power plant design, installation and maintenance, said: “We initially planned to enter the Vietnamese market in 2019, but the COVID-19 pandemic delayed our efforts. Thanks to KOTRA, we are now engaging with Vietnamese businesses, and have already held productive discussions with companies interested in our equipment, services, and technological support.”

The event highlighted the increasing business opportunities between South Korean companies and Việt Nam, signalling stronger economic cooperation ahead. — VNS
