A total 113 athletes from 15 cities and provinces will compete in five categories of men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles for a total prize fund of US$10,200.

HÀ NỘI The National Best Players Badminton Championship will be held on August 4-11 in Đồng Nai Province.

A total 113 athletes from 15 cities and provinces will compete in five categories of men’s and women’s singles and doubles and mixed doubles for a total prize fund of US$10,200.

“They are the best players currently such as world No 59, Nguyễn Hải Đăng, Phạm Cao Cường and Lê Đức Phát on the men’s side and Vũ Thị Trang, Trần Thị Phương Thúy and Nguyễn Thùy Linh on the women’s,” said Lê Thanh Hà, general secretary of the Việt Nam Badminton Federation.

“Outstanding players will be source for the national team for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games,” he said.

Title favourites include mixed pair Nguyễn Tuấn Đức and Phạm Như Thảo, who are close to wining a berth for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. VNS
