HÀ NỘI — Nguyễn Thùy Trang won a gold medal from the 2023 Asian Shooting Cup on March 7 at the Senayan Shooting Range, Jakarta, Indonesia.

Trang advanced to the final after earning 571 points in the women's 10m air pistol qualifier. After knockout shots, she entered the final against Asyifa Rihadatul of the host country.

Trang shot for 16 points, four more than Rihadatul, and secured her title. Hikaru Aizawa of Japan came in third for a bronze.

On March 6, Phạm Quang Huy of Việt Nam finished third in the men's 10m air pistol. He was behind South Koreans Lim Hojin and Kim Mose, respectively.

Earlier, the Vietnamese team grabbed a bronze in the women’s 10m air rifle category by Phí Thanh Thảo, who placed below Ho Xiu Yi of Singapore and Park Hahyanggi of South Korea.

Việt Nam currently stands third in the medal tally with one gold and two bronzes.

The tournament is ongoing until March 10. VNS
