Two weeks pass as no community infection of COVID-19 in Việt Nam

Việt Nam has gone two weeks straight without a single community infection of COVID-19 and as of  Wednesday there are now less than 100 active cases nationwide.

HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam has gone two weeks straight without a single community infection of COVID-19 and as of Wednesday there are now less than 100 active cases nationwide.  

Five more people have recovered on Wednesday in central Đà Nẵng City and Quảng Nam Province.

They include a 70-year-old woman suffering from kidney and vesica cancer and a 20-year-old Down syndrome patient at the General Hospital of Quảng Nam Province.

The three others are a 15-year-old girl, a 47-year-old man and a woman aged 46 who were all treated at Hòa Vang Field Hospital in Đà Nẵng City.

So far 936 people have been given the all-clear leaving 92 patients being treated at healthcare facilities.

The total national count of COVID-19 cases stood at 1,063 as of Wednesday evening.

Among active cases, 18 patients tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 at least three times.

There have been 35 fatalities related to COVID-19 in Việt Nam. —  VNS
