Two new cases of COVID-19 confirmed

Việt Nam has seen 27 fatalities related to COVID-19. A total of 568 people have been declared recovered from the disease.

HÀ NỘI — Two new COVID-19 cases were confirmed on Sunday evening, raising Việt Nam's total to 1,016, according to the Ministry of Health.

Patient 1,015 is a 44-year-old woman and lives in Nam Phước Town, Duy Xuyên District in Quảng Nam Province. She took care of her relative at Đà Nẵng Hospital from August 6 to 18 and had close contact with patients 996, 997, 998 and 1,006.

She tested negative for coronavirus on August 18 but started to have a high temperature on August 21 and later tested positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus. She is being treated at the Đà Nẵng Lung Hospital.

Patient 1,016 is a 33-year-old man who lives in Liên Hồng Commune, Hải Dương City in Hải Dương Province.

He had close contact with patient 977 on Ngô Quyền Road, Hải Dương City. He was taken to a quarantine centre on August 12 and is being treated at the Hải Dương Hospital for Tropical Diseases.
