Illegal immigration ring leader caught in Đà Nẵng

Police of central Đà Nẵng City have arrested the leader of a ring that helps Chinese nationals illegally enter Việt Nam.

ĐÀ NẴNG — Police in Đà Nẵng have arrested the leader of a ring that allegedly helps Chinese nationals illegally enter Việt Nam.

Gao Liang Gu, 42 years old, from China, was caught at a hotel in Ngũ Hành Sơn District, Đà Nẵng on July 25.

On July 11, at No.39 Dương Tử Giang Street, Đà Nẵng City’s police discovered four Chinese people who illegally entered Việt Nam.

Five days later, 27 other Chinese nationals were found at a hotel in Sơn Trà District. They said they had illegally immigrated into Việt Nam.

All of the illegal entrants have been tested for SARS-CoV-2 and quarantined.

The city’s police proceeded with the criminal case on illegal immigration organised in Việt Nam and launched further inspections.

At 5am on Monday, five Chinese nationals traveling on the Hà Nội-Lào Cai Expressway were found to have entered Việt Nam illegally.

The Chinese are reportedly from Guizhou, China, and travelled on a boat for four hours to the northern mountainous province of Lào Cai Province, Việt Nam.

They were caught while travelling from Lào Cai to Hà Nội and planned to take a flight to HCM City. — VNS
