Eight more patients with COVID-19 recover across the country, total hits 241

Eight more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were released from two treatment facilities in Hà Nội and southern Bình Thuận Province on Friday afternoon.

HÀ NỘI — Eight more COVID-19 patients have recovered and were released from two treatment facilities in Hà Nội and southern Bình Thuận Province on Friday afternoon.

The newly recovered patients have brought the country’s total cases being given the all-clear to 241, making up 83.6 per cent of total COVID-19 confirmed cases in Việt Nam.

They include seven patients at the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội and one patient at the Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital in Bình Thuận Province.

Of them, two patients, Patient 36 and Patient 130, are cases who previously were given the all-clear but tested positive again.  

All of eight patients are Vietnamese people, full detail as follows:

At the Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Hospital in Bình Thuận Province:  

Patient 36, female, 65, tested positive again after being given the all-clear from COVID-19 on April 10. She tested positive again on April 23 during her 14 days of monitoring and isolation.

During treatment, the patient was tested and all recent test results were negative for SARS-CoV-2 on April 28 and May 7. Currently, the patient has no fever, no cough, no shortness of breathing difficulties and is in a stable condition.

At the National Hospital of Tropical Diseases in Hà Nội:

Patient 130, male, 30, also tested positive after being cleared on March 30. During treatment, the patient continued to be tested and the most recent tests came back negative for SARS-CoV-2 on April 30 and May 3.

Patient 162, female, 63, was admitted to the hospital on March 25. She is one of the severe cases who suffered lung lesions and low blood oxygen. However, during treatment the patient recovered and avoided intubation and mechanical ventilation. The patient was treated with non-invasive mechanical ventilation, was put in ICU treatment at the Emergency Department of the hospital. All of the patient’s test results were negative for SARS-CoV-2 from April 7 to May 4.

Patient 209, female, 55, was admitted to the hospital on March 30. The patient's test results were negative for SARS-CoV-2 on May 2 and 5. The patient currently has no fever, no cough, no shortness of breath and is in a stable condition.

Patient 212, female, 35, was admitted to the hospital on March 31. The patient has two negative test results for SARS-CoV-2 on May 4 and 7.

Patient 226, male, 22, was admitted to the hospital on April 1. The patient had two tests and both results were negative for SARS-CoV-2 on May 2 and 5.

Patient 243, male, 47, was admitted to the hospital on April 6. During treatment, the patient was tested twice and both were negative for SARS-CoV-2 on May 4 and 7.

Patient 260, female, 35, was admitted to the hospital on April 12. The patient had three tests and all were negative for SARS-CoV-2 on April 27, 30 and May 6. Currently, the patient has no fever, no cough, no breathing difficulties and is in a stable condition.

These eight patients will continue to be isolated and monitored for the next 14 days.

As of Friday afternoon, Việt Nam reported no COVID-19 community transmission cases for 22 days straight. The total number of people in Việt Nam who have been infected remains at 288 with zero fatalities. — VNS
