ĐÀ NẴNG — Authorities in Đà Nẵng have ordered Điện Biên Construction Private Company No 1 to dismantle a part of Mường Thanh Group’s luxury apartment building in Ngũ Hành Sơn District, which was built illegally.
The luxury apartment belongs to Mường Thanh hotel complex and Sơn Trà Luxury Apartments.
The company has one year to comply with the order. The decision was made by the People’s Committee of the city, recently signed by chairman Huỳnh Đức Thơ.
Thơ said the company had 15 days to begin work after receiving the decision. If the company fails to comply, the committee would be forced to implement work to dismantle the construction.
According to the district authorities, the company had ignored invitations to receive the decision, online newspaper Zing reported.
The committee scheduled a press conference on Friday to announce the plan to force the company to dismantle the illegal part of the building.
Previously, the city’s Construction Department issued a permit to the company allowing them to construct a residential building with 42 floors in 2016. Of which, areas from the second to the fifth floor would be used for parking, a kindergarten and a swimming pool.
However, in August 2018, the district discovered that the company had illegally built dozens of apartments in these floors instead. The company also illegally built additional apartments on the 25th, 35th, 41st and42nd floors of the building. All have been completed and put into use.
Thơ said the reason why the city has just issued the decision was because it involved the rights of hundreds of people living in the building.— VNS
