Update: April, 09/2018 - 23:10

TUYÊN QUANG – The northern mountainous province of Tuyên Quang will disburse VNĐ2 billion (US$88,000) to move 95 households living in landslide-prone areas to safe places before the rainy season comes.

The relocation of the households aims to minimise damages caused by natural disasters and contribute to the province’s efforts to reduce poverty, protect the environment and ensure security and defence.

The resettled families include 13 households in Lâm Bình District, 20 in Na Hang District, 21 in Chiêm Hoá District, 16 in Hàm Yên District, 13 in Yên Sơn district, 7 in Sơn Dương district and 5 in Tuyên Quang City.

A total of 18 households in Lâm Bình, Hàm Yên, Yên Sơn and Na Hang have been relocated to date.

The province requested the city and districts to review and determine the levels of financial support for households to be evacuated and provide them new jobs to soon return to normal life.— VNS
