THÁI NGUYÊN — Two people have died after a fire broke out on Wednesday morning at a house in the northern city of Thái Nguyên.

The blaze started around 4am in the two-storey property on Dương Tự Minh Street, Tân Long Ward.

The building is used both as a home and the office of Bodhi Trading Development Co, Ltd., specialising in online sales of bracelets and incense.

At the time of the fire, there were six people in the house, the owner, her Indian husband, their child and grandchild and two helpers.

Four people on the first floor managed to escape but the owner and her husband were both trapped on the second floor.

Eventually the fire was brought under control and the two were taken to Thái Nguyên Central Hospital where they both died.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway. — VNS
