Việt Nam presented to the United Nations Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS) its Submission on the Limits of the Extended Continental Shelf in respect of the Central Area of the East Sea (internationally known as South China Sea) (VNM-C) at the UN headquarters in New York on July 17 morning (local time).

On the morning of July 17 (local time), at the United Nations headquarter in New York, the US, Ambassador Đặng Hoàng Giang, Permanent Representative of Vietnam to the UN, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs delegation, officially presented the Submission of Việt Nam’s extended continental shelf in respect of Central Area of the East Sea (internationally known as South China Sea) to the Commission on the Limits of the Continental Shelf (CLCS).

The President pledged that as the coordinator for the ASEAN-UK relations, Việt Nam will work to promote cooperation between the country and the region.

Acknowledging Việt Nam's development potential, particularly in digital infrastructure, energy infrastructure, and cloud computing, Fulbright's chairman affirmed his commitment to further support and close cooperation serving the Southeast Asian nation's sustainable development

Regarding maritime issues, the two sides agreed to seriously implement high-level agreements and common perceptions, and better control and settle disagreements, not letting the East Sea (internationally known as the South China Sea) issue affect the thriving bilateral relations, for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
