Port of Qingdao the 4th Fareast Cup International Regatta 2019 has been successfully concluded

QINGDAO, CHINA - Media OutReach - 27 September 2019 - On the morning of 25 September 2019, asTeam SCO Youth, Team Huayang Sailingin, Team Japan, Team Qingdao and Team SevenFeet eased into Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, Port of Qingdao the 4th"Fareast Cup" International Regatta 2019, spanning one month and 2,300 nauticalmiles, was brought to an end. The returning warriors from China, Russia, theUSA, Japan, ROK, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, etc., were greeted withflowers, champagne, beer and all the hospitality from the host city.



 

This year's regatta has embraced a whole upgrade. A newstopover, Toyama in Japan, was set up. Together with Vladivostok in Russia, thetotal voyage has been extended from 2,000 to 2,300 nautical miles. The "FareastCup" will soon come to a successful end as teams are coming back one afteranother. Team Seven Feet led by Yliya, former 49er member of Russian SailingTeam, with its notable competence, overtakes Team Huayang Sailingin, led byformer winner of the Laser Radial World Championship Jim, with 15 points aheadand tops the final scoreboard for the fourth time in a row. The team thus heldup high the Silver Cup (56 cm, 13.5kg) by the Fushan Bay. Team WOB, "Langyatai"(Team Qingdao), Team SCO Youth, Team Japan, Team Decision are ranked from thethird place to the seventh.

 

This year haswitnessed the dedication of CPC Qingdao Committee and Qingdao government tobuilding a metropolis that is modern, open, dynamic and stylish. The "FareastCup" is a representation of this endeavor, said Madam Zang Aimin. "Devoted topromoting sailing events, I believe this complies with the current theme andcontributes to the development of a modern, open, dynamic and stylish Qingdao".
