HÀ NỘI — An exhibition featuring artworks by four artists coming from the midland region of Việt Nam will begin tomorrow at 5.30pm at the Việt Nam Museum of Fine Arts in Hà Nội.
Entitled Trung Du (The Midlands), it is a joint exhibition of Nguyễn Quang Hưng, Lê Phạm Hiền, Dương Hà and Khổng Đỗ Duy. The exhibition presents 44 works on different subjects and materials.
Hưng’s paintings are defined by distinct emotions, familiar objects such as vases, jars, flowers and fruits, shown through an expressive style, with brushstrokes that are strong, decisive, liberating yet easy, creating a multi-dimensional feel with a vibrant palette.
Meanwhile, Hiền presents simple yet sophisticated traditional ceramic works from his hometown in Hương Canh Village in Vĩnh Phúc Province. Besides those are paintings portraying moments of soulfulness, reflecting social life, people and landscapes through an existential approach.
Duy’s paintings are fascinating adventures with rich colours, conveying lyricism.
In contrast to the bursting colours, there is a calmness to Hà’s vivid works. The artist hid herself in a world of calm, peaceful and pure colours.
The exhibition will open daily until January 16, from 8.30am to 5pm. Việt Nam Fine Arts Museum is at 66 Nguyễn Thái Học Street. — VNS
