HCM CITY –  Sixty-four sculptures about life, love and spring are on display at an exhibition organised by the HCM City Fine Arts Association.

The exhibition Con Người và Không Gian Sống Hiện Đại (People and Modern Life) displays sculptures in bronze, wood, glass and other materials.

The works have been selected from the latest collections of 50 veteran and young artists in the region. Some of the works are two or more metres long.

Sculptor Phạm Đình Tiến, winner of the association’s Sculpture Awards 2016, said that sculptors faced challenges selling their work because of the large size of many of the pieces.

"We want a big open space to display our works. Public places and parks in big cities should include quality sculptures," he said.

Tiến’s prize-winning work, Cuộn (Roll), in mixed media and two metres long, is part of the exhibition.

Con Người Và Không Gian Sống Hiện Đại is on show at the Văn Thánh Tourist Park at 48/10 Điện Biên Phủ Street in Bình Thạnh District until January 15. Entrance is free. — VNS
