HÀ NỘI — A dance festival for children aged 8-15 will be held for the first time to encourage young people to take up dancing.

Nguyễn Văn Bích, chairman of the Việt Nam Dancers Association, announced the plan to organise the festival at a press briefing yesterday in Hà Nội.

The pieces will be performed in solo, duo and trio, with the participation of famous choreograpgers Trần Ly Ly, Trần Tuyết Minh and Excellent Artist Quỳnh Lan.

The festival focuses on folk, classic and traditional dance. The pieces portray the beauty of dancing art and are accompanied by Vietnamese music composed by Hồ Hoài Anh, Lê Mây and Quang Vinh as well as folk music.

The final round will take place on Saturday at the Kim Đồng Cultural Centre, 19 Hàng Bài Street, Hà Nội. — VNS
