HÀ NỘI — To celebrate the National Day - September 2, a wide variety of cultural and entertaining events were held all around the country.
In Hà Nội, many streets were festooned with red flags, banners, posters, and slogans in honour of Việt Nam's National Day, which honours the country's historical achievements.
During the four-day National Day holiday (September 1-4), the city also allows the pedestrian areas around Hoàn Kiếm Lake and Hà Nội Old Quarter to remain open.
Pedestrians can visit the walking area surrounding Hoàn Kiếm Lake from morning till midnight during the four-day celebration. The pedestrian streets in the Old Quarter of Hà Nội will be accessible from 7pm to midnight during the holiday.
In Huế, the Hồ Chí Minh Museum hosted the exhibition themed From Ngọ Môn to Historical Ba Đình in honour of the National Day.

Through its four themes — 'Revolutionary Autumn,' 'Ngọ Môn - Historical Moment,' 'Ba Đình - Echo of the Country,' and 'Independence Days' — the event showcased over 200 priceless documents, photographs, and artefacts with the aim of re-creating the heroic historical periods of Việt Nam.
In Quảng Bình Province, renowned as the birthplace of late General Võ Nguyên Giáp, a boat racing festival was held on the Kiến Giang River to honour National Day.

This event was initially held following the successful August Revolution. Then, each year on National Day, the locals create this festival to join in the national celebration's excitement.
This year's festival features 24 men's and 9 women's boats with nearly 1,500 competitors on a 24km (for men) and 18km (for women) racing course.
In Điện Biên Province, the provincial Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism organised a cultural programme at the Điện Biên Phủ Victory Monument in honour of the August Revolution and National Day.
The event features 15 performances about patriotism, pride in the country's magnificent history and tradition, and the innovation of Điện Biên Phủ.

During the holidays, the province also hosts numerous exhibitions of documents, publications on the theme of the August Revolution and the National Revolution, screenings of historical films, and sporting events.
In Đắk Lắk Province, the People's Committee of Krông Pắc District held a flag-raising ceremony to celebrate National Day and opened a hot air balloon event.
