HÀ NỘI — On Thursday, Facebook announced new features to Facebook Live. The additions aim to give users more ways to discover, share and interact with live video, and additional ways to personalise their live broadcasts.
The new features include Live for Groups and Events, which enable people to connect more deeply with friends, family and communities who share their interests.
Live Reactions makes it easy for viewers to express their feelings in real time during a live broadcast by using the same reactions recently launched in Facebook’s News Feed, like Love, Haha, Wow, Sad or Angry, and the reactions animate right on top of the video.
With these new features, users can also discover more live videos, and access new options such as Invite Friends, Live Video Destination and Live Map.
With the Invite Friends feature, users can send an invitation to a friend to watch live video with them. The Live Map option allows users to explore live public broadcasts currently happening around the world in a visual way.
These features will be rolled out on iOS and Android over the coming weeks.
Facebook Live was launched last summer to public figures via the Mentions app, and more recently to everyone in the US using iOS and Android apps.
“We’ve been surprised and delighted with how people are using live video to connect and interact with each other all over the world,” said Product Management Director Fidji Simo .
“With Facebook Live you can use your phone to share a moment instantly with the people you care about. This means your friends, family or fans can be there with you, and you can respond to their comments and see their reactions,” the director added. — VNS
