In its long-term vision, AEON Group identifies Vietnam as the second key market alongside Japan for its intensified investment. General retail, one of AEON's three core business pillars, will continue to accelerate in the future.

In 2024, AEON Vietnam plans to provide over 9,000 job opportunities across various positions and departments, fostering development for both external hires and internal human resources. The retailer is actively recruiting staff to support its business expansion strategy and prepare for the peak shopping season at year-end.

According to the General Statistics Office, in the first six months of 2024, total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue reached VND3,098.7 trillion, marking an 86 per cent increase compared to the same period last year. These figures indicate gradual economic recovery and growth in the retail sector. However, the economic situation remains challenging, significantly impacting the job market.

A survey conducted by Manpower in 2024 shows that 87% of respondents believe work-life balance and stability are increasingly important, affecting their satisfaction with their employers. Moreover, over 30% of respondents prioritize personal development. Candidates seek not only attractive salaries but also stable working environments with sustainable development opportunities.

AEON Vietnam is accelerating its expansion efforts, aiming to create a harmonious and inclusive working environment.

Aligned with its long-term vision, AEON Group has identified Vietnam as a key market alongside Japan for intensified investment. General retail, a core pillar of AEON's business, is set to accelerate in the coming years.

In 2024, AEON Vietnam plans to open a General Merchandise Store and Supermarket in Hue by year-end, along with two additional stores in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, as well as new specialty stores and small supermarkets.

AEON Vietnam has been proactive in preparing high-quality human resources to support its expansion strategy, with a recruitment goal of up to 9,000 full-time and part-time employees. In June and July 2024, AEON Vietnam organised mass recruitment events in Ho Chi Minh City and Hue, attracting nearly 6,000 candidates seeking job opportunities. On August 3, AEON Vietnam continued its recruitment drive in Hanoi, offering diverse opportunities for workers in the capital city.
