HÀ NỘI — The Vietnam Dairy Products Joint Stock Company (Vinamilk) would invest in four hi-tech dairy farms in the central province of Thanh Hóa until 2020, said general director Mai Kiều Liên.
These four farms will be located in Vinamilk Thanh Hóa hi-tech dairy farm complex, according to the general director. Of which, there is an organic dairy farm, bringing the size of the complex to 20,000 cows, provides an estimated 110 million litres of milk per year.
With the plan to develop the farms, the total number of cows supplying milk to the company (including Vinamilk’s farms and farmers) has reached over 120,000, producing some 750 tonnes of fresh milk for raw material every day.
It is expected that the total number of cows will be raised to some 200,000 by 2020, and raw milk production is expected to double by then, meeting 50 per cent of the demand and ensuring the supply of pure and fresh dairy products to millions of Vietnamese. — VNS
