HÀ NỘI — Apax Holdings, a member of the Egroup Education Joint Stock Company, on Wednesday signed an agreement with the US’ Franklin Learning Centres/Franklin Virtual Schools to found a high school here.

Apax Franklin Academy would become the first in Việt Nam to apply blended learning – an approach combining classroom learning with online learning that would allow students to access the United States (US) - standard education programme.

Nguyễn Ngọc Thủy, chairman of Egroup, said that joining Apax Franklin, students of high school age would have opportunities to receive the US – accredited qualifications at much lower costs than what is available studying abroad.

Apax Franklin would also provide English courses and university preparation programmes.

Thủy said that Apax Franklin’s technology-based education solutions was a completely new model in Việt Nam, which would enable students to be prepared for their plans of studying abroad in countries with advanced education like the US and the European Union.

Apax Holdings, one among 12 members of Egroup, now holds controlling stakes at English centre Apax English, dual-language kindergarten Apax iGarten and Apax Franklin. Five-star Apax English now has 40 centres across the country and plans to open another 25 by the end of this year.

Shares of Apax Holdings are now listed on Upcom and planned to be listed on HCM Stock Exchange within the third quarter of this year.
