HÀ NỘI — Viglacera Infrastructure Development Company, a subsidiary of Viglacera Corporation, on Thursday kicked off construction of a housing project for workers.
The project will provide accommodation to 4,000 employees working in the Yên Phong Industrial Zone.
The housing and industrial service zone covers an area of 20ha in Đống Tiến Commune of the northern province of Bắc Ninh. It includes residential buildings of 9-12 floors. Total living area of each apartment ranges between 25sq.m. and 50sq.m.
The investor also set aside a land lot of 7,000q.m. to build a kindergarten and parking areas and a land lot of 13,000sq.m. for parks and sports facilities.
According to the company, the housing project will help improve living conditions of workers, shorten the time they spend travelling to their work place and indirectly reduce traffic jams during rush hours.
At the ground breaking ceremony, Minister of Construction Phạm Hồng Hà highly appreciated the company’s social responsibility, saying the project would contribute to the province’s social economic development.
Built in 2005, the 658ha Yên Phong Industrial Zone has attracted US$8 billion worth of investment, including $7.2 billion in foreign direct investment from large investors such as Samsung, Orion and Dawo Vina. — VNS
