Not all that glitters is gold

Online dating is, most of the time, confusing.

Online dating is, most of the time, confusing.

Dating applications are where we fall for someone, but later realise they are not who we think they are.

A woman in the southern province of Sóc Trăng recently got her heart broken and her wallet emptied by a man she met online.

The gentleman rode his fancy SH Mode – one of the more expensive motorbikes in the market – all the way to her house and took her to a nice restaurant in Cần Thơ City.

They ordered a meal of seafood and everything seemed to be going well. The woman was having a good time when her date suddenly got up and said he had to “go give my friend something”.

It took him forever to meet said friend, so he never returned, leaving her with a bill of VNĐ5 million (US$216).

Instead of a sweet goodbye kiss, their first date ended with her emptying her wallet paying for the meal.

Never judge a book by its cover and never judge a man by his profile picture as things are often not what they seem.
