Two dead, one missing in oil tanker fire

ĐỒNG NAI — An oil tanker caught fire on a river in Đồng Nai Province on Monday, leaving two dead and one missing.

The incident occurred at 6.30pm on Monday, when the tanker departed from ICD Port of Biên Hòa 1 Industrial Park, Biên Hòa City, to Đồng Nai River.

There were five crew members on board. Two of them jumped overboard when the fire enveloped the entire cabin.

The provincial firefighters from the Department of Fire Prevention and Fighting were deployed to the scene to extinguish the fire and it was stamped out over an hour later.

Rescue forces are still actively searching for the missing victims.

Local police are investigating the cause of the incident. — VNS
