Đà Nẵng begins exchange programme with Sakai

The central city of Đà Nẵng and Sakai City in Japan will start an intership programme for civil servants from Đà Nẵng to work in the Japanese city, Deputy chairman of the central city’s People’s Committee, Hồ Kỳ Minh, told a meeting with Sakai City leadership last week.

ĐÀ NẴNG — The central city of Đà Nẵng and Sakai City in Japan’s Osaka Prefecture will start an intership programme for civil servants from Đà Nẵng to work in the Japanese city, deputy chairman of the central city’s People’s Committee Hồ Kỳ Minh told a meeting with Sakai City leadership last week.

Minh said the two cities had signed a co-operation deal in 2009 to develop the programme as a partnership agreement.

The two sides agreed to boost short-term exchanges for work and language tgraining.

Japan also plans to open a consulate office in Đà Nẵng City to boost tourism and exchanges between Japan and the central city.

Đà Nẵng is also enhancing co-operation with Yokohama, Nagasaki and Kansai.

The Japan-Việt Nam Culture Centre will be built in Ngũ Hành Sơn District, while a 134ha industrial park has been designed for small- and medium-sized businesses from Japan investing in Đà Nẵng.

Japanese language teaching has been taught at some junior secondary schools following the city’s foreign language teaching programme for 2012-20.

Đà Nẵng has hosted an annual Japan-Việt Nam Exchange Festival in the city since 2013. — VNS
