HẢI PHÒNG — A 26-year-old nurse working as a receptionist at Hải Phòng City’s Hospital of Transport tested positive for COVID-19, the city’s health department announced on Monday.
The case was detected through mass screening and confirmed by Hải Phòng Medical University Hospital and the city’s Preventive Medicine Centre.
The nurse lives in Hoàng Động Commune, Thủy Nguyên District and did not travel out of the city in the last 14 days.
She does not have any respiratory symptoms of COVID-19.
Her parents work at Vật Cách Port, Hải Phòng, and have been quarantined at the Việt Tiệp Friendship Hospital. They are not displaying any symptoms.
Between February 7 and 21, she went to 15 places including food stalls, coffee shops, a local market and visited relatives during the new year holiday. She did not recall some other places she visited.
Lôi Động Hamlet where the patient lives and Hải Phòng City’s Hospital of Transport where she works have been locked down.
The hospital has stopped receiving patients and is making a list of medical workers, patients and their relatives for quarantine.
Eighty-seven medical workers who took part in the mass testing with the nurse tested negative.
As of 7am on Monday, authorised agencies have identified 12 people who were in close contact with the nurse. — VNS
