Eighteen more COVID-19 cases reported

Eighteen new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases were reported in Việt Nam on Wednesday evening, raising the country's total number of infections to 2,329.

HÀ NỘI — Eighteen new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases were reported in Việt Nam on Wednesday evening, raising the country's total number of infections to 2,329.

All of the new cases are people in Hải Dương Province who had close contact with previously confirmed coronavirus cases and had been quarantined.

They are being treated at Chí Linh District Health Care centre and Field Hospital No 2 which is based at Hải Dương Medical Technical University.

At present, a total of 145,925 people who had close contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients or entered Việt Nam from pandemic-hit regions are under quarantine nationwide, including 584 in hospitals, 15,251 in State-run establishments and 130,090 others at home.

The death toll related to the disease remains at 35, while 1,580 patients have been given the all-clear from the virus.  VNS
