45 new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases confirmed on Monday evening

Forty-five new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Việt Nam on Monday evening, including a 10-month-old baby, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

HÀ NỘI — Forty-five new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Việt Nam on Monday evening, including a 10-month-old baby, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

Of the new cases, three are in Quảng Ninh Province, three in Hà Nội, two in the Central Highlands province of Gia Lai, 25 in HCM City and 12 in the northern province of Hải Dương.

The three new cases in Hà Nội are patient 2,009, a 28-year-old woman from Nam Từ Liêm District who had close contact with patient 1,722, her 10-month-old baby and a 50-year-old woman who had contact with patient 2,009.

The 25 new cases reported in HCM City on Monday evening were all related to Tân Sơn Nhất International Airport.

The new cases in Hà Nội and HCM City were previously reported by local health authorities and confirmed by the national steering committee on Monday evening.

All three patients in Quảng Ninh Province had contact with other COVID-19 patients and have all been in quarantine since late January.

The two new patients in Gia Lai Province were reported to have had close contacts with at least three other confirmed coronavirus patients in the province.

The 12 new cases reported in Hải Dương Province are all in locked-down areas in the districts of Cẩm Giàng and Kim Thàng districts and Chí Linh City.

Việt Nam has recorded 2,050 SARS-CoV-2 infections so far, with 35 deaths. — VNS
