Huge blaze at Sài Gòn-Lạng Sơn Trade Centre

A raging fire burnt down kiosks at the Sài Gòn-Lạng Sơn Trade Centre in Lạng Sơn Province’s Văn Lãng District on Monday morning.

LẠNG SƠN — A raging fire burnt down kiosks at the Sài Gòn-Lạng Sơn Trade Centre in Lạng Sơn Province’s Văn Lãng District on Monday morning.

The blaze is believed to have destroyed goods worth billions of đồng in the northern mountainous province. Foretunately, no casualties were reported so far.

According to a witness, the blaze started around 7.20am, and thick smoke rose dozens of metres high, the Voice of Việt Nam (VoV) online newspaper reported.

Đường Thị Xuyến, vice chairwoman of Văn Lãng District, said nearly 300 people, including fire-fighters, soldiers and locals, worked together to put out the blaze. It was basically brought under control around 9am.
