HCM CITY — A variety of academic workshops, international exchanges, tech art exhibitions, and interactive visual arts performances are being held at the annual international ArtTech Fusion 2024 event that opened in HCM City on Tuesday.

The third edition of the international event series themed “New ArtTech for Future Generations” has brought together numerous domestic and international scientists and enterprises in the fields of art and technology.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Nguyễn Đông Phong, chairman of the University of Economics HCM City council, said, “ArtTech Fusion 2024 is not only an artistic event and exhibition but also an international networking platform, a scientific and practical forum that calls on everyone to come together to build a better world, reminding us of the power of technology in exploring and clarifying the power of art, in connecting people, and promoting creativity towards a brighter, more sustainable future.”

“This is a forum that connects universities, professors, students, scientists, researchers, experts, businesses, government, and the communities who are passionate about ArtTech,” Phong said.

On October 9, the University of Economics HCM City was honoured by Times Higher Education (THE) as the leading university among nine universities in Việt Nam ranked in the top 501-600 universities globally.

This achievement is the highest that UEH has attained in the global evaluation system, demonstrating UEH’s commitment to the strategy of building a multi-disciplinary and sustainable university, he added.

With the goal of creating a sustainable environment that enhances human capabilities during the height of the new technological revolution, ArtTech Fusion 2024 aims to provide golden opportunities to connect, introduce, and integrate innovative solutions, with a focus on design and sustainable development for future generations.

It is co-organised by the University of Economics HCM City and prestigious international partner universities, including Tsinghua University, Saint Joseph University Macao, Pantheon Institute of Design & Technology, University Sains Malaysia, Chulalongkorn University, KwangWoon University, National Yunlin University of Science & Technology, Seokyeong University, Dongseo University, Xi’an Academy of Fine Arts, and the Busan Museum of Art.

The event, being held at the University of Economics HCM City, will run until Thursday. —VNS
